Hurunui Council gives the green light in Principle - filming moves forward
We’ve got exciting news to share - Hurunui District Council has given us the green lightin principle (following usual red tape of course) to proceed with filming for The Twelve Beds.
This is a huge step forward for the project, and we’re genuinely grateful for the support and guidance that helped us reach this point. Over the couple of days we met some incredible people and had some invaluable conversations that have shaped how we’ll approach filming with care, respect, and professionalism.
A special thank you goes to Sarah, who took time out of her day to meet with us and give us access to the Soldiers Block. That access was not only helpful, it was inspiring. Standing in those spaces reminded us exactly why this story works: the atmosphere is real, the history is present, and the location carries a weight you can’t fake.
We’d also like to thank Tom, who took time out of his day to meet with us and guide us in the right direction for support and information. His help made a real difference in navigating the process and understanding what we needed to do next.
And to everyone else we met during the week; thank you for your time, your openness, and the practical help that is making the planning possible. Your support means a lot, and we’re committed to doing this the right way.
What’s next:
We’re moving into the next phase of planning and scheduling
We’ll be sharing more behind-the-scenes updates as we lock dates and prepare the shoot
And yes, the trailer page on thetwelvebeds.nz is ready for when we hit that milestone
